Friends and family members, my biggest project in the Peace Corps to date is continuing! It’s the creation of an ICT Lab in my rural village in Uganda. My school has raised $2800 to build an ICT lab and thanks to the generosity of donors we have been able to raise the needed $8000 necessary to create the lab.
This project will greatly help to open up my village to the rest of the world and improve the sharing of cultures among my students, teachers, and villagers and those back home. Donations are tax-deductible and every donor will have his or her name inscribed on a plaque in the building!
As of May 13th, the money from the PCPP Grant was raised and the ICT Lab is currently being constructed. Thank you to all who helped contribute, donate, and share my community’s story to make this happen. I will be posting photos and videos as the construction of the lab progresses.
Currently as of July 21, 2015 the ICT Lab has been fully constructed, painted, and furnished. The computer lab has 10 functional computers, a projector, speakers, and materials concerning student-friendly schools, safe sex, and effective teaching methodologies.
